Adelaide Place was founded in 1829 in the Glasgow city centre and has since expanded and launched missional communities. In 1994, the church underwent an extensive renovation and redevelopment programme, including the creation of a multi-functional centre with a sanctuary, guest house, and nursery. Further development work was carried out in 2017-2023, which included the closure of the guest house, the installation of new office and meeting spaces, and a new café area. The nursery closed in February 2025.
The interior has been extensively renovated and modernised but still has its original stained glass by W & J. J. Kerr on the west wall above the balcony.
Their weekly sermons are livestreamed and uploaded onto Spotify, where they can be listened to in a playlist. The church runs a community hub cafe and student groups.
