The present church, built in 1823, was constructed around the original kirk of 1642, and the congregation continued to worship in the old sanctuary while building work went on around them!

On completion, the inner church was demolished and its bell, cast in 1626, was transferred from the old belfry to its new home in a handsome square Gothic tower, where remains in use today.

The church has a some excellent early 20th-century stained glass, including a First World War memorial window from the father and son studio of John Tytler Stewart and Charles E Stewart that was installed in 1920. A session house was built in the kirkyard in 1992 to provide better facilities for the congregation and where tea and coffee is served after services.

In December 2025, it was announced that the Fintry Kirk Resilience and Community Trust had secured funding from the Scottish Land Fund to purchase the kirk from the Church of Scotland, who had indicated that they were considering disposing of the church in a nationwide programme of property rationalisation. The community group took possession of the building in February 2026 and intends to operate a resilience hub in the church and provide a local venue for culture, heritage, life events and youth wellbeing activities
